Self-paced learning (6.5 hours): To complete across 3 weeks (23 Dec 2024 -13 Jan 2025)

Virtual live trainings (4 hours):

  • Tue, 14 Jan 2025, 7:30 - 9:30pm SGT

  • Sat, 18 Jan 2025, 10:30am - 12:30pm SGT

Cost: $680 per person

About the Programme

Designed to give you practical skills to support others and improve your own mental well-being. 

Learn directly from mental health professionals how to create safe spaces for open conversations about mental health and build confidence in offering peer support. 

This programme by Calm Collective is co-created with mental health professionals and persons with lived experience, and has trained more than 280+ peer support facilitators since 2021.

Calm Collective is part of the SG Mental Well-being Network, as part of the government’s Interagency Taskforce on Mental Health and Well-being.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand mental health and its impact on well-being.

  • Practice self-kindness, emotional awareness, and create a personal self-care plan to sustain your role as a peer supporter.

  • Build deep listening skills.

  • Learn techniques to enhance group cohesion and manage group dynamics.

  • Provide psychological first aid using the "Look, Listen, Link" framework to support individuals in distress.

Hybrid Training Programme

SELF-PACED LEARNING

Curated training videos and reflection exercises that have been co-created with mental health professionals and persons with lived experience.

VIRTUAL LIVE TRAINING

Practise skills in role-play exercises simulating real-life scenarios and engage in Q&A sessions to deepen understanding.

CERTIFICATE UPON COMPLETION

Complete all self-paced learning modules and attend all live trainings to obtain a certificate in “Peer Support Foundations”.

Peer support skills covered

Mental health literacy

Understand essential concepts around mental health and its impact on well-being, and the role of the peer supporter.

Self-care and self-compassion

Practise self-kindness, emotional regulation, and create a personal self-care plan to sustain your role as a peer supporter.

Deep listening (1-1 and group)

In 1-1 and group settings, Learn and practise deep listening skills, build group cohesion, and learn how to navigate sensitive topics.

Psychological First Aid

Learn and practise providing immediate support individuals in distress through the “Look, Listen, Link” framework.

  • The training entails modules such as self-care and self-compassion, mental health literacy, deep listening and group facilitation.

    You can expect to learn through training videos, activities and reflection exercises at your own pace. Additionally, you will learn to apply what you’ve learnt through experiential practice and role play during the in-person training sessions.

  • Yes, you will receive a certificate if you have completed all 4 training modules and attended both of the virtual live training sessions.

  • The program is entirely virtual, allowing you to join us from anywhere in the world.

    It features self-paced learning via our e-learning platform, complemented by live sessions on Zoom.

  • Unfortunately, SkillsFuture credits cannot be used to pay or offset the course fee as it is not currently listed under the SkillsFuture course directory.

    However, we strive to make our programmes as accessible as possible and offer scholarships for those who may need financial assistance.

  • The programme includes about 10.5 hours of training:

    • Self-paced learning: 6.5 hours of learning content, to be completed between 23 Dec 2024 and 13 Jan 2025.

    • Live sessions: 4 hours on Zoom, split into two sessions:

      • Tue, 14 Jan 2025: 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM

      • Sat, 18 Jan 2025: 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM (SGT)
