Welcome to 2025! As we begin the new year, it’s natural to think about how we want to approach the months ahead. Instead of resolutions, consider setting intentions – the guiding principles that shape our choices and actions throughout the year.
Unlike resolutions, which can sometimes feel rigid or pressure-filled, intentions focus on the journey rather than the outcome. They encourage self-compassion, mindfulness, and personal growth.
Here are some mental health intentions to inspire you:
🗣️ Speak kindly to myself: Notice that inner critic and challenge negative thoughts with compassion and understanding.
😴 Make sleep a priority: Create a relaxing bedtime routine and stick to a consistent sleep schedule.
🙋 Ask for help when I need it: Seeking support from loved ones or professionals is a sign of strength. I don’t have to go through everything alone.
🧠 Learn more about mental health: Explore books, podcasts, or courses to deepen my understanding of mental well-being.
⭕️ Set and respect boundaries: Know my limits, communicate them clearly, and honour my needs.
🙏 Practice daily gratitude: Take a moment each day to reflect on three things I’m grateful for, big or small.
